The TOUR Academy Junior Golf Camp at Shoal Creek allows campers to utilize the golf instruction facility at Shoal Creek. The practice facility features a 5,000 sq. ft. tee station, a large green, an approach area for short game work, and a large bunker for sand play lessons. You'll leave with a full understanding of your golf swing and a great game plan for further improvement.
Shoal Creek Golf Course
Shoal Creek Golf Course, which opened in the fall of 2001, has become one of the most talked about golf and banquet facilities in the Kansas City area. This 6,950 yard par 71 golf property was sculpted by golf course architect Steve Wolfard, and offers a truly unique golfing experience for players of varying skill levels. This extraordinary design features breathtaking elevation changes and expansive landing areas that meander through some of the most picturesque terrain in the Northland. The National Golf Foundation rated this course a top-10 course in America in Customer Satisfaction and Golf Week labeled this the #2 public course in Missouri.
Camp Director
Brett Plymell is the Director of Instruction for the TOUR Academy Junior Camp at Shoal Creek. Brett currently serves as the General Manager for Shoal Creek and Hodge Park Golf Clubs. Plymell is a 1998 graduate of New Mexico State University with a bachelor’s degree in marketing and has been a class ‘A’ member of the PGA of America since 2000. Brett began his professional and teaching career in 2001 at Shoal Creek, where he served as the Head Golf Professional. In 2005 he moved to Adam’s Point Golf Course to take over as General Manager and to be able to focus on golf course management.
Additional Staff
During the TOUR Academy Junior Golf Camp, Brett will be assisted by a staff of PGA Professionals who will serve as the camp counselors. Each of our TOUR Academy instructors is a carefully selected career teaching professional who share a refreshing, effective and proven approach to the art of successful golf instruction. Golf instruction will focus on improving the camper’s swing, short game, putting, and course management. We are dedicated to improving not only the camper’s fundamentals, but their mental game as well.
Camp Specifics
Full Day campers will check-in on Monday at 9:00 am. The camp will end at 4:00 pm each day, with the graduation ceremony taking place on Friday at 4:00 pm after the tournament at the Shoal Creek clubhouse.
Half Day campers will check-in on Monday at 9:00 am. The camp will end at 12:00 pm each day.
