TPC Sawgrass – THE PLAYERS Stadium Course
Named one of the Top 50 Golf Courses in the World by Golf Magazine, our newly renovated signature course is revered as the home of one of professional golf’s most prestigious competitions: THE PLAYERS Championship. Here you will face the same challenges that have tested the skill and resolve of the game’s greatest players – including the formidable par-3 17th Island Green, one of the “World’s Most Photographed Holes".
Dye’s Valley Course
Filled with the kind of tantalizing twists and tricky shots that Pete Dye is famous for, this course has hosted its fair share of high-profile contests over the years, including the Senior PLAYER Championship, the Cadillac NFL Golf Classic and the United Van Lines Aces Championship.
Camp Director
Directing the camp at the TOURAcademy at Sawgrass is Jorge Parada. Parada has been with the TOUR Academies since February 2008. Prior to moving into his current role he was key on all programs within the TOUR Academy, leading the Player Development / Get Golf Ready to one of the top performers within the TPC Network and Top 100 Play Golf America programs.
Parada has contributed as a writer to many publications including Golf Digest Spain and has been a guest speaker at the Golf+ Spain show 'On the Tee'. Over the years, Parada credits some of the game's great instructors including Gary Gilchrist, David Whelan, David Orr, Mark Sweeney, Mac O'Grady, Todd Jones and Travis Fulton among others for becoming a great part of his personal and professional development. In addition, he has spent his entire career studying geometry, biomechanics, and physics as it pertains to the performance of a golfer as well as club fitting / building, fitness and mental preparation. Parada has worked with players of all levels including those at the top level of the game (PGA TOUR, Nationwide Tour, LPGA, and European Tour). Current students on the PGA TOUR includes Jonas Blixt and Russell Knox.
Additional Staff
During the TOUR Academy Junior Golf Camp, Jorge will be assisted by a staff of PGA Professionals who will serve as the camp counselors. Each of our TOUR Academy instructors is a carefully selected career teaching professional who share a refreshing, effective and proven approach to the art of successful golf instruction. Golf instruction will focus on improving the camper’s swing, short game, putting, and course management. We are dedicated to improving not only the camper’s fundamentals, but their mental game as well.
Accommodations
Overnight and Elite campers will be housed 2 per room in the newly renovated Sawgrass Marriott Resort & Spa. Breakfast and dinner will be had at the hotel dining facilities while lunch will be taken everyday at the golf course. Campers are fully supervised 24 hours a day. Campers may also request roommates.
Camp Specifics
Overnight campers will check-in on the first day of camp between 1:00 - 3:00 pm. The graduation ceremony will take place on the last day of camp after the tournament at the TOUR Academy clubhouse.
The Overnight fee includes all golf instruction, green fees, evening activities, housing and all meals. The Commuter fee includes all of the above except housing and breakfast. Commuter campers may participate in the evening activities.
Campers arriving to the Jacksonville International Airport are to secure their own transportation to and from the airport. The preferred arrival and departure times are from 10:00am - 12:00pm on the first day of camp and 4:00 - 7:00 pm on the last day of camp.
Full Day campers will check-in on Monday at 9:00 am. The camp will end at 4:00 pm each day, with the graduation ceremony taking place on Friday at 4:00 pm after the tournament at the TOUR Academy clubhouse.
Half Day campers will check-in on Monday at either 9:00 am or 2:00 pm. The camp will end at noon or 5:00 pm daily.
